 Technology Classes Receive SketchUp Pro K-12 Statewide License Grant

Lamar County Middle School received 32 licenses for Google SketchUp Pro 2015 from the SketchUp Pro Statewide K-12 License Grant. This is a professional 3D Graphics program that has a manufactures suggested recommended price (msrp) of $590 for a total value of $18,880. This grant allows our students to use professionally developed software that can help them in their future endeavors in the fields of architecture, engineering and construction.

The SketchUp Pro Statewide K-12 License Grant is an opportunity for public K-12 schools to have access to Google’s pro product at absolutely no cost. Our system technology director must apply and administer the license grant. All state public K-12 schools can get access to SketchUp Pro licenses by requesting them. The grant has been issued to state departments of education in 45 states in the US to date, plus 8 territories/provinces in Canada, 5 states in Australia, and the entire countries of Ireland, Luxembourg, and New Zealand.
